PC (Polycarbonate)
Polycarbonate is colorless and transparent, heat-resistant, impact-resistant, and has a B1 flame retardant rating, with good mechanical properties within normal operating temperatures.
Compared to polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) with similar properties, polycarbonate has better impact resistance, higher refractive index, good processing properties, and possesses UL94V-2 flame retardant performance without the need for additives.
However, PMMA is relatively cheaper than PC and can produce large-sized devices through bulk polymerization methods.
The abrasion resistance of materials is relative.
Comparing ABS material with PC material, PC material has better abrasion resistance.
However, compared to most plastic materials, polycarbonate has relatively poor abrasion resistance, ranking at a medium to lower level.
Therefore, some polycarbonate devices used for applications prone to wear require special surface treatment.
